Just Wanted to Say...Happy Anniversary!

to my mommy and daddy - this weekend marked their 37th year of bliss together... and they still dote on each other...what's their secret to a long and happy marriage? Separate schedules! You can't get sick of a person if you never see them! ha ha...just teasing! I will talk to you both later on...and a little gift is on the way!!

on a smaller note: I'm officially addicted to my Sweet Raisin Juicy Tube...I can't stop applying it, my lips are now so glossy, I'm blinding people as I walk down the street...but only if the sun hits me just right...

this weekend I moped and felt blue (still!) and then yesterday recovered greatly, because I had an awesome brunch with Magpie and Floating Head and then we laughed a lot as we flew to Magpie's nest to work on the Secret Project. Then we headed out to The Most Girly Temple of Sephora to try on perfumes, nail polishes, and lipsticks...and that was that.

Today I'm tired, but mostly I feel like this icky virus that has plagued me is almost gone...I think I just need to sleep really well this week and I'll be myself soon...

AlSO: On Friday, January 13th, it was Jacob O's birthday and I'm a terrible auntie/godmother. I did not call him yet to sing offkey. My gift is on the way though...that's something? He knows I love him, right?

This is a Low - Blur

Blue Jeans 2.0 - Ladytron
Autumndivers - Turnaround
Moonbabies - Happy When Smile
My Bloody Valentine - Swallow
Penelope - Pinback
TV Pro - The Vines

Howie, Sufjan, James, and Joel

I'm still resting, because I'm still not feeling 100% - but it's getting better all the time, bettah, bettah, getting so much bettah all the time... well that's optimistic of me (and uncharacteristic) but after sleeping and resting a LOT this weekend, I feel like I'm almost back to normal. So what did I do?

Howie on Friday - Howie (VoxInfo) is leaving us!! He has found another job and yet another member of Team Conspiracy Corner bites the dust...so we all went out to Blockhead's for a last hurrah! And some margaritas...and laughed a lot... about his inability to stay awake in staff meetings...Vox will be missed, I'm very sad that he is leaving ...who else will keep me up to date as to why I should be angry about the Neo-Cons?... I'll have to rely on his blog for my daily Howie dose...

Sufjan on Saturday - Megan and I went to the outrageously beautiful Allen Room at 59th Street to see Mr. Sufjan Stevens (http://www.asthmatickitty.com/musicians.php?artistID=5) play his lovely genius songs - this theater is amazing, the whole wall behind the stage is windows, so you look down 59th Street, with Central Park and the NYC skyline in full view... amazing!

He was c'est le top as always (eh, I've only seen him twice now, but so what?) and now I just have to buy the other cd's of his that I don't have and then go to Carroll Gardens to begin stalking him...he shall be my boyfriend someday...

James on Sunday - I played for most of the day and evening with my little boyfriend, James Thomas Stanley, had some fun with all of his books and toys and got lots of cuddles in while Frinee made really yummy meatloaf and parsnips

Joel on Monday - Joel, as in Dr. Joel Fleishman...I spent a good deal of this day off watching the first season of Northern Exposure, my favorite show of all time...the first season wasn't the best one - Maggie and Joel are still doing the flirty/fighting thing but I don't think anything really happens to them until the third season... I have to buy the 2nd and 3rd seasons which are already out on DVD, but they are so expensive, it can't be done right now... so I did that and I tried to get myself together, laundry and cleaning and just together..I've been feeling kind of blue since I don't really have the energy to do much since I got sick and I don't know why but it made me depressed...I guess because it's the new year and I had all these things that I supposedly wanted to try and change but instead, I don't feel like doing anything more difficult than sleeping and so then I feel bad about myself for not getting off my duff and doing something about feeling bad...so it's this dumb vicious cycle - which also prevented me from not going to bed until about 3am last night - so that's why I decided to just rest as much as I could this weekend and nap and sleep and lollygag in the hopes that this weird illness I've got will fade...

I'm thinking it is, since I do feel better and more hopeful and more optimistic today... last week was just plain shitty for me, I felt very out of it, very not myself .. the one good note was talking to Best Friend Ever Veronica on Sunday for a good couple of hours and also receiving her Gift of Choxie! I'll have you know, I've eaten quite a bit already...and I love the cd by the way, he's kind of Sufjan Stevenish with a little Elliot Smith thrown in.
