The Humor Test - I'm the Shock Jock!

the Shock Jock
(52% dark, 53% spontaneous, 52% vulgar)
your humor style:
VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | DARK

Your sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also
sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this
world. You probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart,
then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed
out that she's dead.

Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things
trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits
b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your
type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business.

Evil TomKat Baby Theory

Juicy Mama (a.k.a Mother Swarts) had a good explanation for the birth of the TomKat Baby...she agrees with me that Tom did not father this child...she believes that they have kept L. Ron Hubbard's sperm stored in the Scientology Center Vaults and one by one, the Scientology women and being impregnated with his sperm and little L. Ron and Ronette's are being born every nine months until there is an entire Scientology army to go along with their already established navy (their Sea Org) ... you have been warned!! Teegeeack (their word for Earth) is under attack! All will worship Xenu!!

The UN-Doubtful Guest

Unlike the weird creature of Edward Gorey fame, I have a Magpie staying with me for a few days and so far = FAB. It's been fun to have another person in the apartment, I don't really have guests/visitors too often. We went on a walking tour of Jackson Heights and its many cool buildings and gardens, ran a couple of errands - drugstore, strawberrry and hummus purchases, and then home to watch Howl's Moving Castle - I loved it!! Miyazaki is so over-the-top creative with his colors and scenery and its nice to know that this type of artistry still exists - they hand draw and color each cell, unlike most animated studios that use computers to do all the work. Absolutely amazing - and I love this story...Spirited Away is still my favorite though (next I need to see Kiki's Delivery Service) .. and you may want to check out Magpie's own comments about the apparent unbelievability of certain romances... Howl was quite..David Copperfield-ish...to say the least... but he was "voiced" by my future husband Christian Bale (once he divorces his current spouse)...so anyway - this film: highly recommended!!

Disappointment, Anger, and the Hair Eater

This weekend, I did very little..but that's okay, I'm feeling a little weary so I thought I'd rather be easy-going now so that I can gear up for the months ahead - The Move! It's funny to me, because since I found out that I had to move, the Devil Upstairs and the Crazy People Downstairs have been soooo quiet...so quiet that I almost thought "well maybe I should stay?" but...this past week, they've been terrible and in essence (ha ha - HELMUT!) reinforcing my desire to move and finally have some peace!
So: Friday - I watched the Mets WIN - woo hoo! and then to bed early...so that I could get up and look at some apartments, none of which were very nice or worthy of me and my cool stuff and I was disappointed because I thought maybe maybe one of these places might work for me and I'd be done... then I met up with the Stanley Family and got some cuddles and playtime in with Mr. James ... then Sunday I was up early again to get ready for some people and realtors to come by and look at my apartment - and anger followed because NO ONE SHOWED UP. I move my plans around for these appointments and they don't even bother to call and let me know they aren't coming??? TO HELL WITH YOU THEN!!! So I decided I'm not going to make myself very available to show the apartment anymore...I told them this time I'd be there from 10-3 and that's giving them far too much leeway. From now I'm giving them one hour, one day a week and if they can't make it, tough on them. This has happened at least 4 times already and it's annoying - it's not my apartment, it's not my responsibility, so why do I care? The only thing I'm responsible for is finding my own apartment, I don't care if he sells it or not...whew! Okay, I'm done with that venting session...next it was off to Film Forum in Soho to meet Cousin Megan and we saw an old Roman Polanski film with Catherine Deneuve called Repulsion which was pretty creepy and weird - and we had a celebrity sighting! Willem Dafoe was there, but he went to see Days of Heaven, not our choice...he's TINY...really short, not that much taller than me and super scrawny...afterwards, we walked to Sephora where I finally was able to purchase my Rouge Du Monde - a pretty perfect all-around lipstick color - and then I was homeward bound...on the train was the grossest lady - SHE WAS EATING HER HAIR. It was making me gag to sit next to her once I realized what she was doing so I had to move, but then I was also strangely facinated by her so I kept glancing over because I was curious. She was perfectly "normal" looking, not like some crazy homeless lady you see on the E train in the mornings (that train seems to be a favorite of homeless people and junkies), very well-groomed and hip-looking actually and she was listening to her iPod and then she just started to space out and she didn't look "all there" and she started to play with her hair repetitively and that's when I noticed what she was really doing: she would pull a few strands out, look at them intently, roll them up and stick them in her mouth and chew on them like gum. Then, she would pull out the wad and look at it again, chew some more, and then swallow it. She would repeat this every minute and she seemed so spaced out while she was pulling it out, she didn't even seem to be aware that she was doing it and that everyone on our side of the car was looking at her strangely. I've heard of some "hair pulling" disorder and I think I read something about people who eat their hair as well...so anyway, it was sort of in keeping with the theme of the creepy movie I had just watched, so that sort of capped the night off well :-)

TBS Lord of the Rings promos

Okay, did anyone else catch these? HYSTERICAL!!! You can see them all here...

http://tbs.com/broadband/videoplayer/0,,70632,00.html

YOU HAVE TURNED ME GREEN!!!! ARRRGHHH!!! HULK ANGRY!!!! DAVID BANNER IS GONE...

The Third Day of Grumpiness

As Magpie says, it's like my very own Passover...I'm trying really really hard, people, to try and kick this irritation I feel, but IT'S NOT WORKING!!! I keep acting really bitchy towards certain people - not neccessarily uncalled for, mind you - who just refuse to listen to me or who are trying on purpose to turn me into the Incredible Hulk, because no one likes me when I'm angry..or when I turn green and hugely muscular and start grunting and throwing furniture around... it can happen... so you who are annoying me - you know who you are - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! STOP PISSING ME OFF!!!

Okay...on a better note, I made vegetarian split pea soup last night from scratch and it kicks ASS, it's so good...a bit too salty, but I omitted the potato which would have absorbed some of the salt so its been noted for next time...but the flavor is almost amazingly ham-like (let me explain: after Easter and the yearly Easter ham, Grandma Maxine used to use the bones and leftover ham carcass to make split pea soup - a lot of vegetarian recipes don't have that sweet and smoky ham flavor to it) so this being right after Easter and I seem to be buying split pea soup for lunch every day, I thought : I must make this myself...so a big dutch oven of pea soup was made and will be enjoyed for the rest of the week...

So other than watching all three Lord of the Rings movies again, nothing else exciting is going on...oooh! Except that The Omen is being remade (with Liev Schrieber!) and released on ... June 6, 2006 = 666!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! And Mia Farrow is playing the evil nanny....

Weekend Update - UFFDAH!

Friday: Cookies were delivered to someone who may or may not be the real Orange Hat. Things were packed. Laughs were aplenty. Dinner was eaten after midnight. No wonder I felt sleepy the next day!

Saturday: Mets Game = Rained OUT!! Oh well, I'll get some games in soon...they did win on Sunday though and seem to be playing pretty well, which makes me very happy. And the Yankees...not as well...which also makes me happy. Some people came to look at the apartment and then a massive headache came on and I had to sleep off the migraine medication I took. Woke up at 5:10 in a panic to finish getting ready for Swedish Supper Club and was at the subway at 5:45, which should have been plenty of time to get where I was going...alas, that was not to be! I was, horribly, a half-hour late because I got stuck at 59th Street ... well the waiting duo was not upset, as I feared they would be (because then on top of it, I couldn't figure out where to go, since I wrote down 6th Avenue, not off of 8th Avenue) - but I do apologize for keeping them waiting. Anyway, the meal was UFFDAH perfecto! I had a cocktail called the Lila Sommar - soooo good...I know it had crushed raspberries and aquavit and I think vanilla vodka in it and Chambord and dash of cream - and a green salad and wild salmon for dinner and vanilla waffles with cloudberry sauce for dessert...everything was extremely fresh and clean tasting and the atmosphere and wait staff was so pleasant so I give Smorgaschef an "A" and I will be back!

Sunday: Open House again...some offers were made, so I hope this is all coming to an end, I'm getting tired of having strangers in my home and poking in my closets and evaluating my furnishings! Although it has led to some interesting encounters with some of the viewers. Sometimes you see people walking down the street in your neighborhood and think "who are these people?" and then they come in your apartment and you chat with them and see another side to them that you probably wouldn't have guessed at on first glance. I've come in contact with some very interesting characters in the course of the past couple of weeks because of these open houses so that's been somewhat pleasant. Then it was off to help ZeusApollo ready himself for his new Upper West Side temple.

What will this week have in store? Stay tuned...most likely, it will only be interesting to me!

Last night, Magpie and I went to see Rubin and the MDOD (which does not stand for what you and I thought it did - har har) at the Cutting Room ... a good time was had by both of us because we had The Giggle frequently throught the night (PISS OFF) most likely due to a too strong vodka tonic - alas not a Vodka Sonnet;-) and the boys performed very well (especially one of the guitarist/back up singers). I thought the songs were very pretty and the "smaller biceped" lead singer has a good singing voice, but I didn't get a sense of HIM because he did sound just like Sting - which is pretty pleasant and I like a lot of Police songs and some solo Sting. Now, I know how much he loves and admires Sting so I think this would be fine by him! I especially liked their Coldplay cover, they sounded fantabulous. In any case, we had fun and its cool to see them play and I will keep you all updated on any upcoming gigs, should they come up in the future.

Busy Weekend - I'm Tired Already!

Delirium's Schedule Is As Follows:

1. Meet at Shea Stadium for 1pm Mets vs. Marlins - woo hoo, it's baseball season again! Looks like it could be a good year for my Mets and sometime boyfriend David Wright :-)

2. Back home for a quick change after game

3. Supper Club! This time, it was my turn to pick the cuisine and restaurant...and Magpie gave me the idea to go Scandanavian in Boston (and you can interpret what that means however you choose) so we are trying
SmorgasChef (http://www.smorgaschef.com/) in the West Village - they seem to have some really yummy fish dishes on the menu and lingonberry cocktails too! And as my father's maternal side of the family is entirely Swedish (and he is from Minnesota and used live above a man named Ole Oleson), I will consider this Supper Club event as a getting in touch with my roots sort of evening.

4. Sunday from 1-4pm there is yet ANOTHER Open House...when will this end?

5. After that, I shall rest...unless someone calls me with something more interesting to do.

BASTA!

Mommie Dearest

I have the best mommy...I have the prettiest mommy...if I gave her a basket full of hugs, what would she give me? A BOX FULL OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES! Why? BECAUSE SHE ROCKS!!! I got a box of Carmel Delights (that's Samoa's to you East Coasters) and Thin Mints... Look at her...she's so cute and small, she can barely get her head through the hole even though she's standing on something...
